Can some one help me?
Who can told me how to set it.

It is the same in Windows 7. I have Windows 7 on three computers now and had to set quite a few system variables and environment variables.Marc wrote:don't have win7 but in XP and Vista you can set environment variables it in: control panel -> system -> advanced -> Environment Variables -> new
Just so. It is really easy that way.Marc wrote:if you use shelxl and shelxs only, place both files in a folder where the PATH environment variable points to.

I have never refined a crystal. How is that done?
As for the SHELX executables, they need to reside in a directory that is in the path. That is the only requirement. SHELXL should run fine under any OS.
The error message you prompted asks for the SXTL environment variable, but you said you were trying to use the SHELX executables. That is a contradiction. The SHELXTL software will not work on Windows 7 computers, the SHELX suite will. Do you know the difference?
Cheers,
