O-rings for X-ray Tubes

Postby johnewarren » 16 Feb 2010, 14:36

Does anyone have information regarding the Siemens X-ray tube o-rings?

During some maintenance here we have taken out the tube and need to replace the tube-to-tube-housing o-rings and after cleaning the tube-head the tube-cap to tube body o-ring.

The question is where do you get these o-rings from? What should they be made out of etc. We've seen that the rings are VITON for STOE tubes and are assuming the same fabrication for Siemens but suspect different diameter and thickness.

Any help and advice would be useful.

Hi John
We (Hiltonbrooks) should be able to sort you the 'o' rings for tube-tube tower - just need to know what tube tower its for (i.e. system). If you let me know the tube type we should also be able to sort the large one inside the tube.

For info - will add Hiltonbrooks website link to the "hardware" forum - just need to update our website with contacts page first!!! We specialise in independent sales/service of (mainly) powder diffraction systems, components and all sorts of other bits associated with XRD systems (from 'O' rings to tubes and cables etc etc).

cheers

Thanks for the reply.

We have managed to coble something together this time but it great to have access to these sorts of useful bits of information. Especially an independent company which has this information. I look forward to your website link especially as I will be able to so how close our cobbled together solution is to the real thing.

A very strange thing happened yesterday. I was sat in X-ray when a strange voice shouted my name. I immediately thought it was somebody after the other John, but no they wanted me. It was Nick from HiltonBrooks who were working on another machine on campus and just dropped into the lab for a quick chat and brought me a little bag of o-rings.

Yes, I know - amazing stuff!

The power of the forum!

Just so you know that HIltonBrooks email is down you should phone them or pop them a PM via the forum all good.
